Lead Backend Engineer for Visual Storytelling Platform

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to own and evolve the backend architecture of a globally used visual storytelling SaaS platform. You will guide the design of secure, high‑performance systems that enable millions of users to create infographics, presentations, and digital content.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for a global SaaS product.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Front‑end teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability through monitoring and continuous optimization.
• Design and optimise database schemas, queries and data models for high‑load scenarios.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices for maintainable codebases.
• Evaluate and integrate modern tools, frameworks, and technologies.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and foster a culture of engineering excellence.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, preferably in production‑scale SaaS environments.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and production‑grade system reliability.
