Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

PGIM Ireland is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive platform engineering, CI/CD, and operational excellence across on‑premise, AWS, and Azure environments. Based in Letterkenny with a hybrid schedule (2‑3 days in‑office), you will partner with multiple business units to build scalable, secure, and cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and standardise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows, environment protections, and progressive delivery techniques.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management with CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Develop and maintain GitOps deployment patterns, guardrails for secrets, and change‑management processes.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders on FinOps practices such as cost allocation, budgeting alerts, and rightsizing.
• Lead DevSecOps initiatives, working with security teams on detection, response, platform hardening, and audit‑ready logging.
• Define and operationalise SRE practices, including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, on‑call readiness, runbooks, and observability dashboards.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps or platform engineering.
• Strong background deploying, managing, and monitoring services in AWS and Azure.
• Proven ability to design and operate CI/CD platforms at scale.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills with an agile mindset.
