Lead Network Engineer – Telecom Operations

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Lead Network Engineer to drive its Telecom Operations forward. You will be the primary escalation point for complex network circuit issues and will work closely with global carriers, vendors, and internal teams to keep the Mastercard backbone and customer networks running securely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Lead escalation and troubleshooting for DIA, MPLS, Ethernet, DWDM, backbone, and last‑mile connectivity issues.
• Perform advanced fault isolation across carrier networks, customer premises, and internal infrastructure.
• Coordinate bridge calls with service providers during outages and manage incident response for major incidents.
• Analyze circuit performance (latency, packet loss, jitter, flapping links) and validate carrier root‑cause analyses.
• Oversee SLA adherence, maintenance windows, circuit testing, and service restorations.
• Manage vendor and carrier relationships, holding them accountable for SLA compliance.
• Mentor Network Operations Engineers, develop runbooks, knowledge articles, and SOPs.
• Identify recurring issues and propose improvements to network design, monitoring, and automation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex network circuit troubleshooting and escalation.
• Strong background working with global carriers and telecom vendors.
• Experience in incident management, SLA enforcement, and on‑call support.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and drive process improvements.
