Learning & Development Specialist – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Learning & Development Specialist to lead training initiatives at a leading Irish food manufacturing site. The role involves designing, delivering and coordinating induction and ongoing training programmes to ensure staff have the skills needed for safe and efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver employee induction programmes covering manual handling, food safety and site procedures.
• Coordinate and deliver training for new and existing staff, including equipment‑specific courses.
• Maintain accurate training records, matrices and certification documentation.
• Organise external training such as FLT, Reach Truck, Shunter, Stacker and First Aid.
• Monitor training expiry dates and arrange refresher sessions.
• Develop and update training materials, SOPs and work instructions.
• Collaborate with Production Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders to identify training needs.
• Track employee training progress and provide regular reports to management.
• Support compliance, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a training role within a manufacturing environment.
• Train‑the‑Trainer qualification (essential).
• Experience delivering inductions and workplace training.
• Experience organising First Aid and equipment training (FLT desirable).
• Strong communication, presentation and organisational abilities.
• Ability to engage with employees at all levels.
• Experience in food manufacturing is an advantage.
