About the role

BIMM University is seeking a part‑time Lecturer to deliver high‑quality teaching across Ethnomusicology, Professional Development and Research Practice modules. The role combines classroom instruction, curriculum development and pastoral support, with a strong emphasis on student success and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, plan and deliver Ethnomusicology, Professional Development and Research Practices modules.
  • Design and develop resources, schemes of work and assessments.
  • Provide high‑quality teaching and learning both in‑person and online.
  • Support students academically and pastorally as an Academic Advisor.
  • Use data and student feedback to enhance teaching and improve outcomes.
  • Mark and moderate assessments and contribute to quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in student recruitment activities such as auditions, interviews and open days.
  • Engage in professional development, scholarly activity and potential research.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure an inclusive student experience.
  • Contribute to the development of course content and university‑wide initiatives.

Required profile

  • Experience in the music industry.
  • A relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to achieve a Fellowship of Advance HE within two years.
  • Passion for education and innovative teaching practices.
  • Strong understanding of academic quality, standards and inclusive learning environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in education.
