Manufacturing Technician II – Weekend (Sat‑Sun‑Mon) – 36‑hour contract

About the role
The Manufacturing Technician II will support balloon production on a weekend shift (Saturday‑Sunday‑Monday) under a 36‑hour contract. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the role combines equipment set‑up, preventive maintenance and continuous‑improvement activities to ensure safe, high‑quality manufacturing.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure health, safety and environmental requirements are met for the manufacturing process.
- Support engineering in yield improvement projects and own balloon forming machine set‑ups.
- Identify and deliver machine uptime, safety and quality improvement opportunities.
- Develop troubleshooting guides and standardise balloon production processes with Manufacturing Engineers.
- Provide technical support for equipment, focusing on process yields, OEE, TPM and H&S compliance.
- Assist with engineering studies, process trials and IQ/OQ/PQ validations.
- Perform preventative maintenance in the assigned area.
- Design, specify, manufacture and test jigs, fixtures and new equipment in line with QMS.
- Maintain up‑to‑date SOPs and documentation.
- Support root‑cause analysis and implement robust solutions for equipment and process issues.
Required profile
- Level 6 engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a technician in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of balloon blow‑moulding processes (advantageous).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and lean manufacturing.
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail in a technical, changing environment.
- Good communication, planning and organisational abilities.
