Manufacturing Technician – Unit Dose Compounding

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join its Westport, Mayo site. The role focuses on unit dose compounding for ophthalmic batches within a Grade C cleanroom environment, supporting production, testing, and documentation activities on a rotating 12‑hour shift.

Key responsibilities

• Perform gowning procedures and work safely in a Grade C cleanroom.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by the Production Manager in accordance with GMP and quality systems.
• Carry out compounding activities for ophthalmic batches, including preparation of components and equipment.
• Accurately complete batch documentation in a timely and legible manner.
• Maintain a tidy and clean manufacturing area and follow housekeeping standards.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving sessions.
• Set up, clean, and maintain equipment; report any maintenance issues.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental monitoring procedures.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a cleanroom setting is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Professional demeanor with a focus on safety and compliance.

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy for documentation and data entry.
