Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Elusav Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the central engineering team of one of Ireland’s leading construction contractors, based at its Dublin headquarters. Reporting to the Central Engineering Manager, the role will ensure technical compliance across design stages and support both local and international design‑and‑build projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain technical compliance for all assigned mechanical packages.
• Manage RIBA 3‑5 design processes, produce design management plans and ensure alignment with planning teams.
• Coordinate consultant selections, develop RACI matrices and oversee procurement schedules, technical submittal registers, drawing registers and RFI logs.
• Attend design team meetings (in‑person or via MS Teams) and contribute to weekly stage‑5 model reviews.
• Review and approve technical submittals and working drawings, support tender preparation and assist the estimating and pre‑construction teams.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 19650 standards and maintain project trackers such as deviation, lessons‑learned and design change logs.
• Conduct occasional site visits to verify design intent and support safe manufacturing assembly when required.

Required profile

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer with experience in design‑and‑build environments.
• Proven ability to manage complex design documentation and stakeholder interfaces.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
