Mechanical Engineer – Sustainable Building Services

About the role

Join Arup’s Building Engineering team in Dublin and help shape sustainable, high‑performance buildings. You will work on low‑carbon building services projects across sectors such as commercial, healthcare and education, contributing to climate‑focused design solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical services and installations for complex building projects.
• Liaise with architects, clients and other stakeholders to define design constraints.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical solutions.
• Prepare project reports, specifications and cost estimations for mechanical services.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of post‑qualification design experience in a consultancy environment.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Passion for sustainable building design and strong communication, teamwork and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of Irish building regulations (including BCAR) and relevant industry standards.

Required skills

• Design of HVAC, public health, medical gas and piped‑gas systems.
• Proficiency with Revit and Dynamo scripting.
• Understanding of Irish building regulations (BCAR).
