Mechanical Maintenance Technician

About the role

Britvic Ireland is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join its 24/7 maintenance team at the Newcastle West site. The role provides shift cover, supports engineering teams and helps the plant achieve safety, productivity and OEE targets in a fast‑moving beverage manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to meet agreed OEE targets using appropriate tools and governance.
• Analyse run rates, change‑overs and SKU sequences to drive line performance improvements.
• Implement continuous‑improvement initiatives on line operating practices and equipment.
• Execute the plant preventative‑maintenance plan, record completion in SAP CMMS and ensure accurate shift hand‑over documentation.
• Respond to reactive breakdowns, document corrective actions and lead follow‑up reviews.

Required profile

• Practical engineering, technical or facilities‑maintenance experience with a proven service‑delivery record.
• Background in a KPI‑driven manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Mechanical experience preferred; cross‑skilled candidates with electrical knowledge are also considered.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Beneficial experience with PLC and SCADA systems.
