MES Engineer – 12‑Month Contract (Onsite)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced MES Engineer to join a leading biopharmaceutical site in County Sligo on a 12‑month contract. The role is fully onsite and focuses on maintaining and enhancing the Manufacturing Execution System to support compliant production.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the MES environment, authoring and updating recipes, worksheets and equipment specifications.
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting and escalation support for complex MES issues.
• Design, write, test and validate changes to MES recipes, phase‑transition logic and related documentation.
• Ensure alignment between cleaning, equipment, product procedures and MES processes.
• Deliver training and system access to site personnel and keep recipe authors informed of changes.
• Participate in MES governance, knowledge exchanges and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with Global MES teams for system enhancements and support NPI projects.
• Document all activities in accordance with cGMP requirements.

Required profile

• Third‑level qualification in manufacturing, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of MES authoring experience and leadership on multiple implementation projects.
• Strong knowledge of batch processing in FDA/HPRA regulated environments and cGMP requirements.
• Good understanding of IT systems and SAP modules (MM, PP, IM).

Required skills

• Experience with MES software such as Syncade or Werum PAS‑X.
• Proficiency in SAP MM, SAP PP and SAP IM modules.
• Hands‑on expertise in MES application configuration and interfacing.
