MGPS Technician

About the role

The MGPS Technician is responsible for the daily monitoring, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of the Medical Gas Pipeline System (MGPS) and associated alarm systems within a hospital environment. The role supports safe gas distribution to critical care areas and assists in emergency MGPS activities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor pressure gauges, alarms, and valve operations in real‑time.
• Check terminal units and alert system status across ICUs, operating theatres and wards.
• Perform leak tests and functional tests of valves and outlets.
• Assist in manifold operations and manage gas refilling schedules.
• Maintain logbooks for alarm events and pressure variations.
• Report any anomalies immediately to the MGPS Manager.
• Support biomedical equipment that requires gas inputs.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the reporting manager.

Required profile

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering.
• 8‑10 years of experience working with hospital MGPS systems (preferred).
