Mid-level Software Developer (Remote, Ireland)

About the role

Code Institute is seeking a mid‑level Software Developer to join its fast‑paced engineering team. Working remotely from anywhere in Ireland, you will help evolve learning platforms and internal tools that empower career changers and up‑skill professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full development lifecycle: design, code, test, deploy and monitor web applications and APIs.
• Build and maintain containerised infrastructure using Docker and cloud services (AWS, GCP or Azure) with Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices.
• Deliver high‑quality features quickly while meeting tight deadlines.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, learning facilitators and other stakeholders in an agile, iterative environment.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude to improve productivity and code quality.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional software development experience.
• Formal qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering (Level 5 Diploma or higher) or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and the Django framework; experience with Flask or FastAPI is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, IaC and deploying applications on AWS (or comparable cloud platforms).
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), CI/CD pipelines and Git version control.
• Comfortable using AI‑enhanced coding tools.
