Minibus Driver – Patient Transport (Permanent)

About the role

The role involves operating a minibus to transport patients and clients safely between St Luke's Radiation Oncology Network and other designated locations across Dublin South. This is a full‑time, permanent position within the HSE Dublin and Midlands health region, reporting to the Patient Transport Coordinator.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the minibus on public roads, adhering to scheduled pick‑up and drop‑off times.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during transport, following infection‑control and health‑safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate journey logs and complete required documentation for each trip.
• Perform routine vehicle checks, keep the minibus clean, and report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with the transport team and healthcare staff to coordinate patient movements.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence appropriate for operating a minibus.
• Experience driving passengers on public roads, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Good knowledge of the Dublin South area and ability to follow routes efficiently.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings or evenings.
• Professional attitude with a focus on patient care and confidentiality.
