Multimodal Freight Coordinator

About the role

Our client, a leading logistics and freight forwarding provider, is expanding its Dublin team. The Multimodal Freight Coordinator will oversee air, sea and road shipments, ensuring smooth end‑to‑end movement and high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage multimodal freight shipments from origin to final delivery.
• Handle customs clearance and ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
• Liaise with customers, shipping lines, airlines, hauliers, customs authorities and overseas agents.
• Prepare and process shipping, customs and transport documentation accurately.
• Monitor shipment progress, resolve operational issues and provide timely updates to customers.
• Prepare freight and logistics quotations and process customer invoicing.
• Accrue supplier and operational costs, submit supplier invoices for approval and maintain accurate job costing records.
• Identify cost‑effective transport solutions while meeting service standards.
• Support KPI achievement related to service performance, efficiency and cost control.
• Assist with additional operational and administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in freight forwarding and customs clearance operations.
• Hands‑on experience coordinating air, sea and road freight movements.
• Strong knowledge of Irish, UK, European and international freight operations.
• Understanding of import/export customs procedures and shipping documentation.
• Experience preparing quotations, invoicing and managing costs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Direct experience dealing with customs authorities and compliance procedures.
• Previous use of IFMS freight management system.
• Previous use of Thyme IT system.
