On-Call Manager – Out-of-Hours Leadership Role

About the role

We are seeking an On‑Call Manager to lead our out‑of‑hours team, ensuring seamless care delivery during evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be the first point of contact when the office is closed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support the on‑call phone holder team, including recruitment, training and performance management.
• Oversee rosters for on‑call phone holders and on‑call carers.
• Respond to urgent queries from carers, clients and families.
• Handle last‑minute scheduling changes and emergencies.
• Escalate and document incidents and complaints appropriately.
• Liaise with operational teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Act as primary backup for the on‑call team when needed.

Required profile

• Calm under pressure and confident making independent decisions.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to quality care.
• Experience in an on‑call, out‑of‑hours, scheduling or rostering role, preferably within home or community care.
