Operations Administrator – Freight

About the role

We are looking for an Operations Administrator to join a busy sea‑freight team in Little Island, Cork. You will support the day‑to‑day administration of import, export and logistics activities, ensuring shipments and documentation are processed accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate shipment records and operational data.
• Prepare, process and manage freight, shipping and customs documentation.
• Support import, export and customs administration activities.
• Monitor electronic filing systems and departmental records.
• Process sales and purchase invoices and handle invoice queries.
• Carry out basic reconciliations and assist with month‑end reporting.
• Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports and KPI data.
• Respond to customer enquiries and provide shipment updates.
• Maintain customer, supplier and carrier records.
• Manage incoming emails, correspondence and telephone enquiries.
• Provide general administrative support to management and operational teams.
• Support compliance, audit and reporting requirements across the business.

Required profile

• Previous administration experience, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics or supply chain.
• Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of import/export documentation or customs processes is desirable.
