Part-Time Remote Financial Controller

About the role

Origins Foster Care is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the team on a part‑time, remote basis. This role is ideal for a finance professional who wants to contribute to a values‑led, trauma‑informed organisation while enjoying flexible working hours.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Review monthly management accounts, financial reports and cash‑flow statements.
• Monitor budgets, expenditure and support financial forecasting and planning.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, invoicing and payment tracking.
• Support payroll oversight and ensure pension and statutory payment compliance.
• Prepare for annual audits and liaise with external accountants/auditors.
• Ensure compliance with Irish financial and regulatory requirements and maintain effective financial controls.
• Collaborate remotely with Directors and administration staff on budgeting, service development and strategic planning.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Accounts Manager or in a similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of Irish payroll, tax and financial compliance.
• Excellent organisational skills with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities remotely and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounts management experience.
