Pharmaceutical Technician (12-month Fixed-Term)

About the role

AbbVie is seeking a Pharmaceutical Technician to join its manufacturing team at Manorhamilton Road, Sligo on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role involves operating within a GMP‑regulated environment to produce drug product materials while adhering to safety, quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pharmaceutical processing activities in the manufacturing building and support locations.
• Coordinate with team members to maximise production effectiveness.
• Document all activities in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements.
• Cross‑train and train new team members.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement programmes to enhance quality, safety, environmental and production systems.
• Execute commissioning and validation protocols on an ongoing basis.
• Maintain overall cGMP standards in processing areas.
• Support and follow all EHS standards, procedures and policies.

Required profile

• 3rd‑level qualification in Engineering, Science or related field, or at least 2 years experience in a GMP‑regulated environment.
• Experience working in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer literacy and good IT skills.

Required skills

• cGMP compliance and documentation.
• Operation of automated pharmaceutical equipment.
• IT/computer skills for data entry and equipment control.
