Planner / Scheduler – Construction (Cork)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Planner/Scheduler to join a leading main contractor in Cork. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining robust construction schedules that support the successful delivery of a variety of projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tender‑stage programmes and supporting narratives under tight deadlines.
• Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules using MS Project, Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.
• Monitor project progress, track against baseline schedules and perform critical‑path analysis.
• Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to ensure accurate scheduling inputs.
• Identify risks, delays and programme impacts, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Produce clear reports, including Gantt charts, S‑curves and dashboards.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in construction planning or scheduling.
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction methodologies and contract frameworks (PWC / RIAI).
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Primavera P6.
• Proficiency with MS Project.
• Proficiency with Asta Powerproject.
