Precision Medicine Director

About the role

The Precision Medicine Director will lead the development and execution of precision‑medicine strategies that support Novartis’ neuroscience clinical programs. Working at the intersection of clinical development, biomarker science and diagnostics, the role ensures alignment with disease‑area objectives and drives patient‑selection, regulatory and trial‑design initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement precision‑medicine strategies aligned with disease‑area and clinical program goals.
• Lead cross‑functional biomarker sub‑teams covering molecular epidemiology, assay development and data analysis.
• Serve as a core member of global clinical teams and act as the subject‑matter expert on precision medicine.
• Contribute to diagnostic target product profiles and companion‑diagnostic development plans.
• Identify and mitigate risks to ensure successful delivery of precision‑medicine programs.
• Author biomarker and diagnostic sections of key clinical development documents and support regulatory submissions.
• Facilitate collaborations with external academic and scientific partners.
• Ensure compliance with medical‑device regulations and internal quality standards.
• Promote knowledge sharing and drive operational excellence and process improvement.

Required profile

• Significant experience in clinical research, clinical trials or precision medicine within a life‑sciences environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional, multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of biomarker strategies, companion diagnostics and clinical development processes.
• Experience working in regulated environments and complying with global regulatory standards.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder‑management and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage risk and make strategic decisions.
• Experience developing clinical or regulatory documentation.
