Press and Public Affairs Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Press and Public Affairs Manager to shape how Dublin Port is perceived by media, political, industry and community stakeholders. You will lead corporate communications, develop compelling stories, and support the Port’s Masterplan 2040, ESG strategy and community engagement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Dublin Port’s communications programme in collaboration with internal teams.
• Lead the press office and manage the external communications agency for proactive and reactive media engagement.
• Advise senior leadership on media, reputation and stakeholder matters.
• Create clear, compelling content such as press releases, statements, speeches, briefings and other communications materials.
• Monitor earned media, analyse coverage insights and act on reputational issues and opportunities.
• Project‑manage the Dublin Port Yearbook, the new trade statistics platform and related initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in corporate communications, media relations or public affairs, preferably within a large infrastructure or public‑sector organisation.
• Strong ability to translate complex operational topics into engaging narratives for diverse audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing high‑quality content.
• Strategic thinker who can build trusted relationships with journalists, policymakers and community groups.
