Principal Communications Specialist

About the role

Medtronic is seeking a Principal Communications Specialist to lead internal and external communications for its $1.2B global Neurovascular business. Reporting to the Head of Global Communications, you will connect, engage, and inspire both the worldwide workforce and key external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Create and implement communication programs aligned with business strategy and organizational goals.
• Collaborate with regional, corporate, and OU communications teams on priority initiatives and special projects.
• Monitor media trends and adapt Medtronic stories to strengthen market reputation.
• Engage external stakeholders through media activities, conferences, congresses, and award submissions.
• Support initiatives that reinforce company values, celebrate employee contributions, and enhance transparency.
• Measure communication impact using feedback, analytics, and engagement metrics.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on messaging, organizational communications, and change management.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in external or corporate communications, including advising senior leaders.
• Proven ability to lead strategic communication programs with measurable impact.
• Strong English writing, editing, and storytelling skills for diverse internal audiences.
• Expertise in change communication and organizational transformation.
• Experience working within a highly matrixed, global organization (preferred).
