Principal Engineer – Remote Working, Technical Ownership, €115,000 Salary

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join an Irish SME that values remote work and technical leadership. You will have full visibility over the product development lifecycle and the ability to shape architecture while staying hands‑on with code.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and mentor engineering teams, influencing design decisions.
• Develop and maintain cloud‑native SaaS products.
• Write production‑grade code using Node.js, React and AI‑related technologies.
• Design, implement and scale micro‑service architectures on AWS.
• Ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and uphold web security best practices.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership roles.
• 3+ years of hands‑on Node.js development.
• Proven experience with microservices and AWS environments.
• Strong understanding of web security principles and CI/CD processes.
• Legal right to work in Ireland (EU passport or Stamp 4 visa).
