Procurement Officer

About the role
The Procurement Officer will serve as the central hub for all procurement activities within SGS Ireland, ensuring compliance with internal policies while driving cost optimisation and effective supplier management.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for procurement queries, providing guidance aligned with SGS policies and procedures.
- Coordinate end‑to‑end procurement processes across the business, maintaining consistency and efficiency.
- Review, approve or reject purchase orders to ensure compliance with delegation of authority and governance requirements.
- Lead sourcing activities including tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
- Negotiate and re‑negotiate supplier contracts to achieve best value and service delivery.
- Maintain supplier agreements, monitor performance and ensure contract compliance.
- Conduct supplier due‑diligence and compliance checks against the SGS Code of Conduct.
- Manage vendor lifecycle processes, ensuring accurate master data and audit‑ready documentation.
- Identify, track and report cost‑saving and cost‑avoidance initiatives using spend analysis tools.
Required profile
- Proven experience in procurement or commercial environments.
- Strong analytical and organisational capabilities.
- Ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders to support operational delivery and strategic sourcing.
Required skills
- Spend HQ (or similar spend analysis tools).
