Production Manager

About the role

Keelings is seeking a Production Manager to lead its packhouse operations. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement, managing a high‑performing production team, and ensuring that output meets forecasted demand while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement projects across the production floor.
• Conduct bi‑weekly meetings with planning and recruitment to align staffing with medium‑ and long‑term forecasts.
• Review daily production schedules, approve labour and cost targets, and adjust plans as needed.
• Hold weekly and monthly planning meetings to assess short‑term and quarterly production capabilities.
• Collaborate with project teams on new packaging solutions and new SKU introductions.
• Calculate production costs, including start‑up and change‑over expenses for new formats.
• Manage team leaders, conduct performance reviews, and develop training plans.
• Coordinate with packaging, goods‑in, supply chain, transport, and planning functions.
• Maintain packhouse standards in line with site procedures and promote a risk‑free health and safety environment.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and management experience in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Minimum three years of experience in production or manufacturing.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible with a commitment to personal development.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, able to meet tight deadlines.
