Production Manager

About the role

The Production Manager will lead the manufacturing of high‑quality ductwork and ventilation products, ensuring that output targets, quality standards, cost efficiencies and health & safety requirements are consistently met. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate production planning, workflow optimisation and team development in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and oversee daily, weekly and long‑term production schedules to meet customer demand and project deadlines.
• Monitor production outputs, costs, scrap, rework and labour efficiency to achieve key performance indicators.
• Coordinate with Design, Engineering, Procurement and Logistics to ensure smooth project execution.
• Lead, motivate and develop production supervisors, team leaders and shop‑floor staff, managing staffing levels, shift patterns and overtime.
• Conduct performance reviews, manage absence and handle disciplinary processes when required.
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, company policies and risk assessments.
• Support investment in new machinery, automation and tooling.
• Analyse production data and implement improvements to reduce waste and downtime.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Manager or Senior Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment (ductwork, HVAC, sheet‑metal or steel fabrication).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning and workflow management.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Solid understanding of health & safety requirements within manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
