Production Operator

About the role

Join Surmodics’ production team in Ballinasloe and help deliver high‑quality medical device and diagnostic solutions. As a Production Operator you will rotate through the manufacturing area, assembling finished products and ensuring they meet strict quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Meet production output targets for both quality and quantity.
• Follow written work instructions and complete all required paperwork in line with GMP and GDP standards.
• Check products at each workstation, identify and remove defective items.
• Set up and operate test equipment on the production line.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and participate in improvement activities.

Required profile

• Completed Leaving Certificate (or equivalent secondary education qualification).
• Ability to accurately follow work instructions and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and a self‑starter attitude.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a small team.

Required skills

• Operation of test and production equipment.
• Ability to complete documentation accurately according to GMP/GDP guidelines.
• Basic understanding of quality inspection processes.
