Production Planner – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

The Production Planner will coordinate manufacturing activities in a precision engineering subcontract shop focused on aerospace components. Working closely with production, purchasing, quality, engineering and customers, the role ensures orders are delivered on time, in full, and to aerospace quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for CNC machining, finishing, inspection and subcontract operations.
• Prioritise work orders based on customer requirements, delivery commitments and capacity.
• Monitor machine loading and labour capacity to optimise throughput and minimise bottlenecks.
• Update ERP/MRP systems with accurate production status and delivery forecasts.
• Communicate delivery dates, risks and delays to customers and support on‑time delivery targets.
• Coordinate material, tooling and subcontract services with purchasing to match production schedules.
• Plan external processes such as heat treatment, anodising, plating, NDT and special processing while maintaining traceability.
• Track work‑order progress on the shop floor, identify scheduling risks and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Ability to balance machine capacity, labour resources and material availability.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with strict quality standards.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers.
