Project Engineer – Facility Design & Optimisation

About the role

We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead the planning, design, and delivery of facility development, expansion, and optimisation projects in a complex operational environment. The role blends engineering expertise with project management and data analysis to create efficient, high‑performing facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead facility design, redevelopment, and expansion projects from concept through implementation.
• Analyse operational requirements, throughput, storage capacity, and workflow to develop effective design solutions.
• Create and optimise facility layouts using AutoCAD, integrating storage systems, material handling equipment, conveyors, and automation technologies.
• Prepare business cases, CAPEX estimates, implementation plans, and technical presentations for investment decisions.
• Manage greenfield developments, site expansions, and remodels while meeting scope, budget, and timeline targets.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams including operations, engineering, maintenance, contractors, and suppliers.
• Support procurement by preparing RFPs, evaluating suppliers, and managing vendor performance.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, cost reduction, and facility performance.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience in warehouse or facility design projects.
• 2–4 years of implementation or project‑management experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct process mapping and data analysis.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and stakeholder expectations.
