Project Engineer – Warehouse Development

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Project Engineer to lead warehouse development, major customer projects and continuous improvement initiatives across our Irish operations. The role is fully onsite, working directly with contractors and internal engineering teams to deliver projects from concept through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Engineering in greenfield developments, facility expansions and refurbishments.
• Manage projects from concept, design, installation, commissioning to handover.
• Define scope, budgets, milestones and delivery programmes with senior management.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams and multiple contractors across mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, fire protection, lighting and construction disciplines.
• Oversee health & safety compliance, permits, risk assessments and project documentation.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, identify risks and implement mitigation plans.
• Monitor project costs, variations, payment applications and change control.
• Lead witness testing, commissioning, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and final handovers.
• Review engineering drawings, construction drawings and P&IDs for compliance.

Required profile

• Background as Project Engineer, Site Engineer, Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or experienced Engineering Supervisor/Foreman.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations in an industrial environment.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple contractors and resolve engineering issues on site.
• Experience delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
