Project Manager – Construction (Cork)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established Irish main contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Cork‑based team. You will own projects from early design through to handover, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Keep project programmes on track and collaborate with the Contracts Manager on timelines.
• Lead and support the site team, mentoring junior staff as required.
• Ensure the right people and resources are allocated at the right time.
• Drive a strong health & safety culture across the project.
• Monitor quality to guarantee compliance with specifications.
• Manage costs and work with the commercial team to stay within budget.
• Build and maintain solid client relationships, providing regular updates on progress, risks and delays.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience managing construction projects (new builds and/or fit‑outs).
• Experience with Design & Build projects is a strong plus.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver complex jobs.
• Strong technical understanding with good reporting and numerical skills.
• Excellent communication skills for dealing with diverse stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and ability to make cost‑effective decisions.
• Comfortable using MS Office and project planning tools such as MS Project.
