Project Manager (Ultra Long Haul)

About the role

Verizon is modernising its core networks to deliver groundbreaking products and technologies. The Ultra Long Haul Project Manager will lead multiple build initiatives, ensuring technical issues are resolved throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage several simultaneous ULH build projects from initiation to completion.
• Coordinate and schedule resources across multiple organisations to align with business goals.
• Identify, monitor, report, and escalate project‑related issues for timely resolution.
• Develop and implement corrective action plans to mitigate schedule impacts.
• Utilise project tracking tools to document milestones, issues, corrective actions, and overall project status.
• Maintain clear communication with functional teams and management to surface issues early.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent project management experience.
• Proven ability to make independent decisions based on policies and project requirements.
• Experience managing telecom infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle conflicting priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for internal and external stakeholders.
