Purchasing Administrator – Procurement Operations

About the role

The Purchasing Administrator will lead procurement activities for a fast‑moving distribution business in Tralee. You will be responsible for supplier management, market research and negotiations to ensure cost‑effective and high‑quality purchasing.

Key responsibilities

• Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate prices, terms and delivery conditions.
• Manage end‑to‑end purchasing processes, issue purchase orders and coordinate inbound freight logistics.
• Act as primary contact for existing vendors and handle new product inquiries.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies, damages and oversee multi‑location stock transfers.
• Utilise internal software to streamline purchasing workflows and drive process improvements.
• Prepare accurate procurement and inventory reports for senior leadership.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in a procurement, buying or purchasing role within a fast‑paced environment.
• Relevant qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or Accounting.
• Confident negotiator with strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent cross‑functional communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
