Python Developer – Remote (Up to $100/hr)

About the role

Mercor is seeking an experienced Python Software Engineer to join its remote team for a short‑term contract. You will work directly with leading AI research labs to build and optimise production‑grade Python systems that support model training and evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex, production‑grade Python applications.
• Design modular, testable codebases using FastAPI, Pydantic and modern Python tooling.
• Profile, optimise, and manage memory usage to improve performance.
• Collaborate asynchronously with foundational‑model AI labs to enhance model training pipelines.
• Deliver high‑quality code on schedule while working independently.

Required profile

• Experience at top US technology firms.
• Proven track record delivering complex Python systems.
• Deep understanding of core Python language fundamentals.
• Hands‑on experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, and current Python best practices.
