Quality Engineer II - Microbiology Laboratory

About the role

Medtronic’s Microbiology Laboratory is a GMP‑focused facility that supports multiple business units. The Quality Engineer II will ensure product quality, drive investigations, and support continuous improvement in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation methods for products and equipment.
• Maintain effective product control measures and respond to quality issues.
• Lead laboratory investigations and deviations, initiate corrective actions, and apply root‑cause analysis tools.
• Ensure corrective actions meet reliability standards and that documentation complies with GMP requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to embed quality standards.
• Prepare, review, and approve NCMRs, CAPAs, investigations, and validation activities, providing expert QA guidance.
• Follow all Microbiology Laboratory safety and GMP procedures.
• Design inspection and testing mechanisms, conduct QA tests, and perform statistical analysis on non‑conforming products.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a regulated laboratory or manufacturing environment.
• Proactive team player with strong communication, organization, and presentation skills.

• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) knowledge.
