Quality Engineer – Medical Devices (UK/IE)

About the role

Johnson & Johnson Vision is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the distribution of medical devices across the EMEA region. The role will be based in Pinewood, UK or Dublin, Ireland and operates in a hybrid/remote model.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality systems aligned with business, regulatory and customer requirements.
• Provide training, consultation and resolve procedural breakdowns across the organization.
• Lead quality system and engineering improvement initiatives focused on supply‑chain performance.
• Apply Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and ISO standards in daily operations.
• Address and escalate product and process complaints, evaluate contract‑manufacturer performance, and support management reviews.
• Determine root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Implement measurement systems to monitor effectiveness of quality and reliability processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline (preferred).
• 4‑5 years of medical‑device quality experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Self‑starter who can work with limited supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working with Adobe artwork files (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
