Racecourse Manager

About the role

The Racecourse Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of Sligo Racecourse, ensuring smooth race‑day delivery and driving future development of the venue. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this senior on‑site role combines operational oversight with commercial and stakeholder responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all race‑day activities, including safety, regulatory compliance and customer experience.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise revenue from events, hospitality and sponsorship.
• Engage with key stakeholders such as owners, trainers, sponsors, local authorities and community groups.
• Support the Board with strategic planning, reporting and governance matters.
• Manage health and safety programmes and ensure adherence to industry regulations.

Required profile

• Proven senior management experience in racing, hospitality, events, sport, tourism, venue or facilities management.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to drive revenue growth.
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with a track record of managing complex operations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
