R&D Engineer III – Endoscopy Sustaining R&D

About the role

Boston Scientific is seeking an R&D Engineer III to join the Endoscopy Sustaining R&D team on a permanent basis. In this hybrid role you will protect product quality, compliance and business continuity for a portfolio of commercial medical devices, while driving product improvements and lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Support sustaining R&D activities for commercial Endoscopy products, including design changes, test method development and lifecycle management initiatives.
• Investigate technical, quality, supplier or manufacturing issues, assess root causes and recommend engineering solutions.
• Design, coordinate and execute engineering tests and experiments; analyse data and draw conclusions to support decisions.
• Assess feasibility, robustness and technical soundness of proposed product, material, process, tooling or equipment changes.
• Prepare and review engineering documentation such as design change assessments, test protocols, technical reports, risk documentation and regulatory submission inputs.
• Collaborate with project management, quality, manufacturing, process development, regulatory affairs, clinical, marketing and other cross‑functional partners to ensure successful execution of sustaining projects.

Required profile

• Dynamic and collaborative professional with experience in sustaining R&D for medical devices.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model, attending the local office at least three days per week.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland without sponsorship; relocation assistance is not available.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to manage technical projects across cross‑functional teams.
