R&D Project Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced R&D Project Engineer to join a fast‑growing engineering and manufacturing business in the West of Ireland. You will work within a dynamic Research & Development team, driving projects from concept through to product launch while supporting continuous improvement and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Attend weekly project meetings and present updates on R&D activities.
• Maintain and manage GANTT charts to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
• Prioritise development projects in collaboration with the R&D Manager.
• Conduct technical research to integrate the latest technologies and methodologies.
• Provide regular progress updates to senior engineering leadership.
• Assist in KPI development, tracking and monitoring for the R&D function.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, design, manufacturing and project teams.
• Support product development, testing, evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Produce technical documentation, reports and instructional materials.
• Contribute to design optimisation and process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Previous experience in mechanical design or building services engineering is advantageous.
• Legally entitled to work in the EU.
• Fluent English (written and verbal) for business communication.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit and BIM coordination.
• Experience with CAD automation tools such as DriveWorks or similar platforms.
• Open‑minded approach to modern engineering technologies, including AI‑driven tools.
