R&D Tax Credits Senior Consultant – Scientific / Technical

About the role

Grant Thornton’s Incentives team is expanding its R&D Tax Credit and grant services practice across Ireland. The Senior Consultant – Scientific / Technical will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, helping them secure tax relief for qualifying research and development activities under Irish legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with clients from various industries to assess eligibility of R&D projects for tax relief.
• Lead client engagements, conduct stakeholder interviews, and identify qualifying R&D activities.
• Prepare and review submissions to Irish Revenue and funding bodies, ensuring high quality and compliance.
• Oversee multiple client engagements and review outputs from junior team members.
• Assist in preparing proposals for prospective clients and maintain consistent risk controls.

Required profile

• Qualified or experienced in scientific, engineering or computer science disciplines.
• 1–2 years post‑qualification experience in R&D tax credits or incentives within a professional services setting.
• Proven ability to lead client engagements, manage stakeholder relationships and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and interaction with senior technical stakeholders.
