Receptionist – Part‑time, Grade IV (Permanent)

About the role

The hospital is seeking a friendly and professional Receptionist to provide a pleasant first point of contact for patients, families, visitors and staff. This permanent part‑time position involves evening and rotating weekend shifts, ensuring smooth front‑desk operations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and direct patients, visitors and callers with a courteous and helpful attitude.
• Manage the switchboard, answer and route telephone calls efficiently.
• Maintain the reception area, ensuring it is tidy and welcoming.
• Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry and managing appointments.
• Operate office equipment including printers, scanners and fax machines.
• Assist with occasional evening and weekend duties as scheduled.

Required profile

• Minimum Leaving Certificate (Grade D) or equivalent qualification.
• QQI qualification in Office Administration or similar.
• Proven experience as a receptionist or switchboard operator, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage a fast‑paced environment.
