Registered Nurse – Critical Care Transport (Night Shift)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our pediatric critical care transport team at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. This full‑time night‑shift position involves providing advanced life‑support and critical‑care services while transporting patients between facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver basic and advanced life support, including CPR, endotracheal intubation, and needle thoracostomy during transport.
• Assess, treat, and continuously monitor patients under physician orders throughout ambulance, helicopter, or fixed‑wing transports.
• Communicate patient status and treatment plans clearly to medical teams in confined transport environments.
• Maintain composure, apply critical‑thinking, and resolve emergent problems quickly and safely.
• Perform emergency procedures such as umbilical cord assessment when administering emergency medications.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of nursing experience.
• 1‑2 years in a Neonatal ICU (NICU) and 1‑2 years in a Pediatric ICU.
• 1‑2 years of pediatric nursing and neonatology experience.
• Current RN license and valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of a Level II background check.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Valid driver’s license.
