Registered Nurse – Critical Care Transport (Night Shift)

About the role

The Pediatric Critical Care Transport team at Wolfson Children's Hospital is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide night‑shift transport of critically ill children between facilities. The nurse will deliver basic and advanced life support, monitor patients, and ensure safe, high‑quality care during ambulance, helicopter, or fixed‑wing transports.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic (BLS) and advanced (PALS) life support, including CPR, endotracheal intubation, needle thoracostomy, and emergency medication administration.
• Assess, treat, and continuously monitor pediatric patients throughout transport under physician orders.
• Communicate patient status and interventions clearly to physicians and other medical professionals in confined transport environments.
• Maintain composure, apply critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills to manage emergent situations.
• Document all care provided and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of nursing experience.
• 1–2 years in a Neonatal ICU (NICU).
• 1–2 years in a Pediatric ICU (PICU).
• 1–2 years in pediatric nursing, including neonatology.
• Current RN license and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a Level II background check (state and federal).

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Valid driver’s license.
