Registered Nurse – Pediatric Intensive Care (Night Shift)

About the role

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Wolfson Children's Hospital is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse for night shift coverage. The unit has earned the American Association of Critical‑Care Nurses Gold Certification, reflecting excellence in quality, safety, and family‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients using the full nursing process.
• Supervise and guide support staff in delivering safe patient care.
• Coordinate care with ancillary services and ensure seamless communication.
• Engage patients and families in developing individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes, treatments, and care plans.
• Advocate for patients, delivering high‑acuity care to those requiring intensive monitoring.
• Uphold the hospital’s mission and participate in staff meetings and unit activities.

Required profile

• Active RN license in Florida.
• BSN degree or equivalent nursing education.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Conscious sedation certification preferred.
• Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred.
• 1–2 years of cardiac or telemetry experience preferred.
• Hospital and emergency department experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and successful Level II background check.
