Registered Respiratory Therapist – NICU Night Shift

About the role

The Baptist Health system is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist to join the NICU team at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full‑time, night‑shift position focused on delivering high‑quality respiratory care to critically ill newborns and infants.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory disorders in the NICU.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including aerosolized medications and oxygen delivery.
• Perform and interpret pulmonary function tests.
• Monitor and manage mechanical ventilators for patients requiring respiratory support.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary staff to develop individualized care plans.
• Provide patient and family education on breathing techniques, medication use, and lifestyle adjustments.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient progress.

Required profile

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Associate degree in respiratory therapy or related field preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Preferred certifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Florida Respiratory Therapist license preferred.
• Experience in NICU or pediatric respiratory care is highly desirable.
