About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Specialist Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join the team at Wexford General Hospital. This full‑time, on‑site position offers the opportunity to develop advanced clinical expertise within a supportive teaching environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care to in‑patients, out‑patients and labour ward cases.
• Participate in on‑call duties, emergency obstetric procedures and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and medical students during clinical rotations.
• Contribute to audit, research and quality‑improvement projects within the department.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE governance standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent).
• Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
• Proven Irish clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.
• Competent English language proficiency (IELTS or OET).
