Remote System Administrator – Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. This fully remote position focuses on managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, and supporting technical operations across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer cloud‑based servers, networks, and storage on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive fixes to minimize downtime.
• Enforce security best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and manage access controls.
• Automate routine tasks using Bash, Python or PowerShell scripts and configuration‑management tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deploy updates and resolve technical challenges.

Required profile

• Proven experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration skills.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Ability to write and maintain automation scripts.
• Experience with monitoring solutions such as Nagios, Zabbix or Prometheus.
