Research Communications Officer – Women’s Health

About the role

The Research Communications Officer will support the clinical project coordination team and the communications team of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Rotunda Hospital. The role focuses on promoting the "Debunking the Myths – The Science behind Our Sexual Health" workshop series for teenage students and delivering broader communication initiatives that raise awareness of women’s health research.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and manage workshop logistics (online, virtual and hybrid formats).
• Maintain and update website content, write copy and curate visual assets.
• Edit video material and produce multimedia content for offline projects.
• Develop and execute organic social media posts and paid campaigns.
• Draft and circulate press releases and other media materials.
• Collaborate with department staff and external stakeholders to create communication plans and materials.
• Engage with internal and external audiences in a professional and positive manner.
• Perform additional operational duties as directed by the Research Program Manager.

Required profile

• Third‑level qualification in science, healthcare, media communications or a related field.
• Proven experience in communications, content creation, engagement or administration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and manage multiple projects against deadlines.
• Interest in evidence‑based sexual health education.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience using Canva or similar design platforms.
• Video editing capabilities.
