Secretary – Clinical Services (Fixed‑Term)

About the role
The NHS Lanarkshire team is seeking a dedicated Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative support to a multidisciplinary clinical services department. This fixed‑term position (18 months) offers a part‑time schedule across three days a week, helping ensure smooth patient pathways and efficient departmental operations.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver full secretarial and administrative support, including audio/copy typing, photocopying, word processing and email handling.
- Maintain and monitor the department’s waiting list and referral system.
- Collect, collate and produce statistical information for patient performance, staff governance and monitoring activities.
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, telephone calls and act as the first point of contact for relatives, carers and external agencies.
- Oversee document retrieval, filing, and database maintenance to ensure up‑to‑date and accurate information.
Required profile
- RSA3/SVQ3/NC qualification in Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
- Strong organisational ability, initiative and excellent written and oral communication.
- Effective time‑management and the capacity to prioritise tasks independently.
Required skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
